Exercising My Resolve

Cherrie | December 31, 2008

To Resolve or not to resolve. That is the question. Be it more noble to make up a bunch of stuff that I know I won’t stick to but sounds really good or to just be brutally honest and let everyone know that at least once a week, I plan on eating mass quantities of [...]

My Dirty Little Secret

Cherrie | December 29, 2008

I would never have thought that I would have been in this category. Me. The one who is always so strong, so serious, so on top of things. And yet there I was, no here I am. A place where it shames me to admit to being. First I have to let you know that [...]

Another Year

Cherrie | December 27, 2008

Today is my birthday!  I’m not feeling old. I feel like I felt when I was 20 only older. Well my body has some rough spots, but overall, it’s doing good. The last few years, I’ve managed to take alot better care of myself and finally it’s starting to show.  It’s been a year since [...]

Merry Christmas (or not)

Cherrie | December 25, 2008

Best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, nonaddictive, gender neutral, winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most joyous traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, and with respect for the religious persuasions of others or their choice not to practice a religion at all; a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically [...]

Wasilla Hillbillies

Cherrie | December 24, 2008

I guess it just works differently in Alaska. It’s okay not to teach your daughter sex education and then force her into a marraige because it’s a savvy political move. Down here in the “lower 48″, we uninformed Americans stereotypically refer to that as following Islam. (Okay bad joke!).

Drug Control

Cherrie | December 23, 2008

Now I’m in the state database. They know that I’m not some junkie with a stolen script pad. I’m a real person with some real issues that keep me in very real pain.

One Nation Under Stupidity

Cherrie | December 22, 2008

Now, I may not agree with someone stupidly naming their child Hitler or Osama or whatever is our right, but they still have a right to have a birthday cake, to attend public school, be homeschool, to attend those wacked out churches, to be taught those hate-filled beliefs. When they are adults, it will be our job as a society to help them understand that their parents were wrong. Now is not the time. For now let’s just let Adolph eat his cake.

Tweaking Twitter

Cherrie | December 18, 2008

If you’ve got a little extra time on your hands and you’re interested in what I’m having for dinner or how many Lortabs I took because my tibia is killing me, then look me up on Twitter. Oh heck, I won’t keep you in suspense: baked chicken with rice and 4.

A Shoe! My Kingdom for A Shoe!

Cherrie | December 16, 2008

Admittedly it was funny as heck!  Lame Duck (literally ducking) President Bush was in Iraq on a surprise visit and he received a surprise of his own.  One of the reporters took off his shoes and threw them at him.  For those that don’t realize, in Arab culture, the sole of the shoe is like [...]

We Win

Cherrie | December 15, 2008

then I remember the saying “Losers do what they want to do; WINNERS do what they have to do.” She comes from a long line of winners. And just as the women in our family have survived and lived to fight another day, we will survive this too.
