One day a woman’s husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn’t anymore. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more “just one minute.” Sometimes, [...]

The defendant had not one, but 6 witnesses stating that the alleged incident never occurred and that they plaintiff was making up more excuses to harass the defendent. Judge Hinton (we are beyond keeping silent about incompetence), despite overwhelming evidence found the defendent guilty despite 6 witnesses to one.

I have finally outgrown this book and now my children have decided that they want to forego learning all but wordpress. I’ve tried convincing them that there is power in numbers and diversity, so if I do WordPress, that leaves Blogger, Typepad and a host of other platforms to learn. They have decided though that [...]

June 12th 1967, the Virginia law banning interracial marraige was finally overturned by the Supreme Court. We call that day the National Day of Loving. How appropriate is that? My children, still find it hard to believe that there was a time when life wasn’t like it is for them now. I still remember. Some things we can’t forget.
