Today it was announced that Al Franken is not Senator-Elect of Minnesota. Finally the 8 month long battle for that senate seat is now over. The Democrats now control both the House and the Senate (despite Oklahoma’s blatant resistance). I’m so totally overjoyed. It’s about time that this was done. Hopefully now that we have [...]

Bach: Air in G-minor. Yes, yes , yes. Yoyo Ma. I am going to that place. I am drifting with each perfect note. I am being played like a Strataverius. Lovingly, sweetly, patiently, gently. I can’t keep my eyes open. This is better than sex or chocolate. Almost as good as ironing. Who am I kidding? NOTHING is better than ironing! But this is distant second. There’s a reason for wind and string instruments. Oh yeah, back to Bach. I finally can relax. Beethoven is too hard for the mood that I’m in. It has to be strings, gentle strings.

Both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died last Thursday. I have been continually barraged with colleagues asking my opinion about their deaths. Let me say first that I am so not impressed by either. Concerning Farrah Fawcett and her death from cancer. Okay, I’m waiting… Children, anonymous people die of cancer every day. Go to [...]

Neda has been dead for 5 days now. Her Janazah has been done. She was not allowed to have a public funeral. The Iranian government didn’t want to fuel what they consider the rebellion. They don’t understand that the rebellion against oppression, unfair treatment. The rebellion is about people tired of being abused by the [...]

I am so tired of gang violence. Actually, I’m perterbed, disgusted. Who convinced Black men and Hispanic men to shoot, randomly at each other over land that isn’t theirs and never will be? This is so far removed from what a true man would do that it defies logic. There are enough things killing Black [...]

I give a lecture. I speak to a crowd for well over and hour with microphones thrust into my esophagus. Cameras plague me, but they have no interest what I have to say. These “reporters” wait for the perfect faux pas so that one can be misquoted. If I sound paranoid, it’s because on several [...]

Why is it that a person has to take sides on the abortion issue. One has to be either Pro-choice or Pro-Life. My question is simple. Why isn’t it possible to be both? I am all for a woman’s right to choose. However, my religion has emphatic rules about what should occur. Fortunately, each woman [...]

To all the real fathers in the world (especially my Will) You know what it is to be a father. You understand that it’s more than getting someone pregnant. You are a rare breed. You are strong, confident, a caretaker. With you, I am secure, reassured. The faces of your children light up when you [...]
